The McKinney Fire is now 40% contained. 

Firefighters are working on increasing the depth of perimeter lines to mitigate the risk of spot fires. As the fire progresses east, road systems are projected to help limit its spread. A Red Flag Warning is in effect until Tuesday night owing to the hot, dry conditions, and firefighters are on the lookout for possible lightning and strong winds associated with thunder storms.
