Fire Update

The McKinney Fire continues to burn at 60,389 acres. However, after weeks of hard work creating and maintaining perimeters, firefighters have established 95% containment. The fire showed no growth yesterday.

Thank you to our emergency responders from Fort Jones, Cal Fire, the National Forest Service, and firefighters from all over the state who have come together to protect our community. These past weeks have been a trying time, but the end is in sight thanks to you.

As of this morning, California Interagency Incident Management Team 12 has taken command of the fire.

Fort Jones is expecting some light haze today from the fire, and our air quality may move into the moderate category.
