Fire update: The rate of spread for the McKinney Fire seems to have slowed. As of this morning, the fire was reported at 56,459 acres. 1,363 personnel have been assigned to this fire, and yesterday’s weather conditions allowed those personnel to make good progress. However, in light of projected thunder storms, the Red Flag warning has been extended through Tuesday.
While parts of Yreka and areas near Fort Jones have been evacuated, there are still no evacuation orders or alerts in place within Fort Jones city limits.
