"The purpose of the Fort Jones Museum is to present the history of the community from the time of its original inhabitants to its present time, and to preserve, for public benefit, the natural, historical, and artistic heritage of Scott Valley."

The Fort Jones Museum features hundreds of artifacts shedding light on the lives of local tribes, trappers, miners, pioneers, and soldiers. The collection includes one of the finest Shasta basket collections in northern California, as well as sacred white deerskins, 19th century gowns, vintage guns, and historical photographs and documents.

The Fort Jones Museum is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, Monday-Friday 10:00-4:00, and Saturdays 1:00-4:00.
