Reminder of Water Bill Deadlines, Fees, and Payment Plan Procedures

Dear Valued Residents,

The Town of Fort Jones would like to take this opportunity to remind all citizens of the important rules regarding water bill deadlines, fees, and payment plan procedures. It is our goal to ensure that every resident has clear and up-to-date information to avoid unnecessary fees and complications.

Water Bill Deadlines: Water bills are due by the 20th of each month. Payments received after this deadline will incur a late fee. To avoid any additional charges, we encourage all residents to make their payments promptly. Please ensure that payments are made by the due date to maintain uninterrupted water service.

Late Fees: A late fee of $5.00 will be applied to any account that has not been paid in full by the due date. If you have any questions about your bill or need assistance with payment options, please contact our office before the due date to avoid incurring this fee.

Payment Methods:
The Town of Fort Jones accepts a variety of payment methods for your convenience, including:

• Cash
• Credit Card
• Check
• Money Order
• E-check

For those who prefer the convenience of automatic payments, we also offer an automatic payment option.

Please note the following fees associated with certain payment methods:

• Cash and Check payments do not incur any fees.
• Credit Card and E-check payments will incur a small convenience fee.

Payment Plans: The Town of Fort Jones offers payment plan options for residents who may need assistance in meeting their water bill payments. If you are unable to pay the full amount by the due date, please reach out to the Clerks Office to discuss possible payment arrangements. Please be aware that payment plans must be set up in advance and will require timely adherence to the agreed-upon schedule.

Important Update:
Due to recent turnover in our office, some of these rules have occasionally been overlooked or not enforced consistently. However, starting May 1, 2025, all water bill deadlines, late fees, and payment plan rules will be strictly enforced. We kindly ask that all residents take note of this and ensure that they are in compliance with the established guidelines to avoid any inconvenience.
